Thelma The Unicorn by Aaron Blabey
Thelma was a short pony that always wanted to be a unicorn. Her best friend Otis would always tell her that "she was perfect just as she was," but Thelma was not very happy with herself or how she looked. One day Thelma found a carrot on the floor and she tied it to her nose to make herself look like a unicorn. There was a man driving by in his truck carrying pink glitter and paint. He saw Thelma, and he thought she was a unicorn. He lost control of his truck, and the pink glitter and paint fell all over Thelma. She now looked like a shiny pink unicorn like she always wanted. She became a superstar that everyone loved and wanted to be around. After a while she realized that maybe she didn't like being a star. Her fans would always chase her and never leave her alone and she didn't like that. She also had mean people that would throw things at her and say mean things. She missed her friend Otis and her old life. She decided to clean off the paint and glitter and not be a unicorn anymore. She was happy to have everything back to the way it was. Just her and her friend Otis sitting under a tree.
