This book is about Lucida and her family. Padre Alvarez wanted Lucida’s mother to make a blanket which covers the figure of the baby Jesus in the Christmas procession. Lucida wanted to help her mother make the blanket but she became very ill. Lucida started to make the blanket herself. She was not able to make the blanket by Christmas. Then Lucida placed tall green weeds around the Stable. The weeds changed and had a flaming red star at the tip. The people call the plants the Flower of the Holy Night
