Pink and Say by Patricia Polacco

This book is about Sheldon Russell Curtis and Pinkus Aylee. Say and Pink were both in the Army. Say was wounded and Pink found him and took him to a safe place, Moe Moe Bay’s home. Moe Moe Bay was Pink’s Mother. The marauders went to the house looking for food then shot Moe Moe Bay. Say and Pink then left from hiding. They later got captured by men that were following them. Say got sent to Andersonville prison and later got released. Pink never returned home. Say passed the story down from generation to generation in memory of Pink.
