Gaston goes to Texas by James Rice

This book is about an alligator named Gaston. A very strong breeze blew him from Louisiana to west Texas. Three cowboys invited him to their ranch and clothed him and offered him a job . Gaston dressed up as a cowboy and took the job of a rough cowboy life. He tried to mount a Cayuse, he tried to horseback, and rode a mustang. He was not successful at doing any of those things. After a month of practice he was able to do the jobs of a cowboy. The three cowboys tried to get him to stay and work with them. Gaston ended up going back home to Louisiana to his normal life.
